What we eat and drink provides the building blocks for our bodies. Not enough of what we need or too much of what we don’t need will, sooner or later, lead to health problems and will undermine how well we feel and function. On the flip side, our health determines how our bodies use the food we eat.
Your relationship with food is about more than just getting enough energy, vitamins, and minerals, or avoiding specific foods. The food related choices you make influence more than the weight on the scale, your dress size, or you health forecast. What, when, and how you eat will also affect how you feel and function minutes, hours, sometimes even days after the meal or snack.
It's not just that your tastes and sensitivities are unique, your physiological needs are as well. What's more they'll keep changing as you and your circumstances change. We'll help you find the right dietary approach to meet your needs and your goals. Then we'll coach you in the skills you need to make it work for you long-term by teaching you a little of the why as well as the what.
Because we believe that you are unique, we tailor the nutrition advice to your needs and goals. For us, helping you means supplying our expertise and experience, and having you choose what fits your goals and circumstances. Vegan or more carnivore, low-fat or low-carhohydrate, small meals regularly or intermittent fasting, we can optimise your preferred approach if you already have one, or help you find one that fits.
Is nutrition coaching for you?
If you've tried every diet, or if you haven't and quite frankly don't want to, then nutrition coaching is for you. If you have a condition like type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, arthritis, hypothyroidism, coeliacs disease, or other bowel conditions aggravated by certain foods, then nutrition coaching is for you. And if you have trouble making and sticking to changes, which most of us do, then nutrition coaching is for you.
Nutrition coaching means that we’ll support your journey to health every step of the way. We’ll keep you accountable when things get hard, and help you troubleshoot when you need it.
What to Expect
After you make a booking we'll email you a food record form, and medical and diet history form to fill out. This information is essential to tailoring your nutrition prescription and therefore forms the basis of your first consultation in which we will carefully go through the forms and also discuss your specific goals.
After the first consultation, we'll arrange a second visit to take you through your nutrition prescription, including a tailored nutrition guide for you to refer back to whenever you need to. The Starter Pack also includes a 30 minute checkup where you can ask questions and trouble-shoot your new way of eating. The checkup can be arranged when you feel it would be most beneficial. Thereafter, you are free to book individual checkup sessions if and when you feel these would be beneficial to you.
